Indonesia has set 20% Electric Vehicle (EV) by 2025

Indonesia, South-East Asia’s largest economy has announced its target to produce more electric vehicles (EV). Indonesia sets an ambitious target on the adoption of electric vehicles with 2.1 million e-motorcycles and 400,000 e-cars (20% of all locally manufactured cars) expected to take the road by 2025. At present the government is preparing fiscal infrastructure and facilities to support the effort to enter the electric motor vehicle industry.

The Indonesian government is aggressively encouraging the national automotive industry to develop electric vehicles. The reason is the trend of future vehicles is towards the concept of saving energy and being environmentally friendly. Next year, the government will subsidize the purchase of electric vehicles with the aim of reaching 2.5 million EV users by 2025 and reducing air pollution by 29% by 2030.

In 2035, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry targets the production of one million four-wheeled or more and 3.22 million two-wheeled. This is a commitment from the government to reduce carbon emissions and achieve the Net Zero Emission target by 2060.

EV Indonesia 2024 is returning its 3rd edition with a bigger scale. The exhibition will be co-locating with INAPA 2024, ASEAN’s largest trade show for the automotive industry. The show will be taking place from 15 – 17 May 2024 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta – Indonesia. EV Indonesia 2024 will present again an opportunity to showcase the latest trends and technologies for electric vehicle manufacturing solutions including batteries, electric power trains, components, IT systems, materials, equipment and services.
